 Folly Beach is a barrier island south of James Island and is bordered by the Folly River and the Atlantic Ocean, and is often referred to as “the edge of America” Folly Beach is an eccentric beach town. It is an older, more casual residential community. Many of its modest beach homes beginning around $400,000 still remain, with condo’s starting around $290,000.
