A Brief History:
In 1994, David Kent worked as a home builder, a career he had enjoyed for many years. Because of his close connection to the real estate industry, friends and family often approached him for advice or assistance when buying a home. While he accommodated their requests to the extent real estate law would allow, he quickly saw a unique need to fill: there were no real estate agents in Charleston that worked exclusively for homebuyers. No agents that provided 100% buyer representation. No agents that went to bat for the buyer at the negotiating table. With his distinctive background and extensive knowledge of the real estate industry, David Kent decided to embark on a new path. In 1995, David and Real Buyer’s Agent co-founder Cece Stricklin started building their own team of agents. Steadfast and committed to buyer representation, this relatively new approach to the real estate business took flight.
Our Promise of Performance :
The Real Buyer’s Agent earns its fees just like other real estate agencies, by splitting the commission. This is where any similarity ends. Unlike listing agents, we show you the entire market: MLS properties, for sale by owner real estate (FSBO), foreclosure properties, new homes, vacant land, and anything else you are interested in buying. Although we help all of our clients find lenders, insurance companies, home inspectors, attorneys, and other businesses involved in a home purchase, we do not engage in questionable financial arrangements with them. Our relationships with these businesses are to ensure that you get the best price and best terms. We do not accept kickbacks. Being an exclusive buyer’s agent is a choice. We are a different breed.
