David Kent elected as NAR RVP

David Kent, Broker in Charge of The Real Buyer’s Agent, Charleston’s first exclusive buyer’s agency, was elected as the 2024 Region 4 Vice President of the National Association of REALTORS®.  Region 4 includes the following states: South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The Regional Vice Presidents of the National Association of REALTORS® consist of 13 elected individuals appointed to oversee the work of the National Association in their respective region and act as the representative of the President in such matters as may be assigned to them.

In addition to serving as the spokesperson for the Association in their respective region, the RVP identifies problems or opportunities within the region and assists wherever possible.

It is the responsibility of the RVP to attend their regional State Conventions as well as the two annual meetings of the National Association and to chair the regional caucus meetings (held at both the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo and the REALTORS® Conference & Expo) to conduct regional business affairs and exchange information.

David has held positions such as President of the South Carolina Association of Realtors in 2016, Chair of the National Association of REALTORS® RPAC Federal Disbursement in 2021, and the National Association of REALTORS®  Realtor Party Disbursement Liaison in 2023. Kent is currently serving as a Director of the National Association of REALTORS® and the South Carolina Association of REALTORS® as well as on the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council Advisory Board.

He is also active in his community, serving as President-Elect of the Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club and has served on the Charleston County Planning Commission since 2010.

Kent opened The Real Buyer’s Agent, HBC Charleston’s first exclusive buyer’s agent brokerage, in 1995. Since he started, the company has never taken a listing, eliminating the conflict of dual or designated agency that most agencies face. The company has continued to grow while remaining committed to 100% representation and service for the buyer.
